Are you interested in becoming active in the Student Union? This document details how joining the StV works and what it entails.
1. Get in touch!
In order to start the Onboarding process, we need to know that you are willing to join. Hit up the Head of the StV (or any other member really) during one of our events, via Discord or email to get in touch. Don't be shy, we are always happy for new recruits and will usually make it work.
2. StV Interest Talk
We'll have a talk where the StV Head explains the inner workings of the ÖH, how we operate and what we expect from our members. We are also interested to hear which area you would like to be active in (Student Guidance, Events, or Representation in Commission?). This is nothing formal, no worries - we just want to make sure that you know what you are signing up for.
3. Trial by Fire
Once you have heard how we work, we also want to have you experience it. In the beginning, new members spend the majority of their ÖH time helping out at events. As such, we invite you to join the workforce on one of them. During this time, we'll also collect feedback within the StV about you to make sure that everyone feels comfortable working with our new recruits.
4. Onboarding
If you have made it through the event and still feel like the ÖH is a cause worth donating your precious time to, we are happy to have you!
We'll set you up with your accounts, uniform and picture.
You will then be assigned a buddy (an older StV member) that helps you get into the groove of things.
5. Trainings
Once you are at the ÖH, you'll have many opportunities to extend your knowledge: We offer free trainings on all the basics you could need, ranging from university law primers to coffee brewing workshops. We are happy to see you take on more responsibilities and replace us in the future, for a new generation of StVlis to come!
